Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards is pleased to announce our 2023 finalists with 66 businesses and individuals in the running for top honours.
Winners will be announced and the gala awards night on Friday 7 July to be hosted at St Columban’s College, Caboolture.
The Moreton Bay Business and Innovation Awards are presented by Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council.
There are 15 categories, plus the Moreton Bay Regional Council Business of the Year Award.
Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism CEO and Founder Shane Newcombe congratulated this year’s 66 finalists on the quality of their entries, wishing them all the best for the final judging process.
“These finalists were selected from 170 entries – the highest number we’ve had since before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic,” Mr Newcombe says.
“I’ve had a look at the list and this year’s judges certainly have a tough task ahead to choose our winners.
“This year’s awards celebrate everything from accessibility and inclusiveness to customer service, advanced manufacturing, innovation and corporate social responsibility. There are many businesses throughout the region who shine in these categories.”
Moreton Bay Mayor Peter Flannery says this year’s finalists are an inspiration to all businesses in the region.
“In the face of rising input costs, labour shortages and globally difficult trading conditions, these local legends have somehow managed to rise above seemingly insurmountable odds,” Mayor Flannery says.
“That’s why these awards are my favourite time of year, to celebrate those locals who haven’t just succeeded in the last year but pushed themselves to excel.
“These awards are a celebration of our 29,000-strong business community across a range of categories including youth innovation and customer service, to key priority industries linked to our Regional Economic Development Strategy (REDS).
“Moreton Bay is emerging as a powerhouse of the SEQ economy and it’s thanks to these kinds of businesses that we continue to succeed year-on-year.
“As we all work to mitigate the difficulties associated with rising national inflation, we definitely need a reason to celebrate this year and I can’t wait to see everyone at the awards night.”
A panel of 48 judges has volunteered to consider this year’s entries and will determine the winners.
