Winner: Fiona Holmstrom – STEM Punks
Co-Founder and Director of STEM Punks, Fiona Holmstrom believes STEM Education should be accessible for everyone, and believes helping children develop skills in the fields of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics will prepare them for a future where they can make a difference. STEM Punks mission is to “Inspire Tomorrow’s Innovators” and teach children about 21st Century Skills by enabling a mindset of creativity, innovation, and entrepreneurship.
Customer Service Excellence Award
Winner: Sesame Lane Care & Kindergarten
We are a family-owned and run group of early learning services, proudly caring for and educating children for more than 33 years. However, we are more than a service provider; we are a family. In 2021, the Sesame Lane family includes a workforce of almost 400 Educators, Teachers and staff, over 2,000 children and over 1,700 Moreton Bay Region families.
Employee of the Year
Winner: Therese Thomson – Sesame Lane Care & Kindergarten
Therese has dedicated 21 years of Service to the children and families of the Moreton Bay Region. She has established respectful and reciprocal relationships with families and runs a high-quality education and care program at Sesame Lane Care & Kindergarten, Clontarf. She is a highly respected mentor and role model in the Early Learning Sector, giving freely of her knowledge and time.
Entrepreneur of the Year
Winner: Matt Ryan - CareTech
Matt is the current CEO of three companies LAS (Local Alarm Solutions) middleware software developer. CareTech designs and manufactures nurse call solutions. While RTM Cloud monitors electronic assets. The companies have all offices & warehouses in Clontarf while the PCB board manufacturing plant is in Underwood. They are all 100% Australian owned and operated in Brisbane.
Environment & Sustainability Excellence Award
Winner: Eckersley Print Group - Print Approach
Based locally, here in beautiful Moreton Bay, Eckersley Print Group is a leading, multi-award-winning print manufacturer and supplier providing comprehensive, innovative print & branding solutions to an impressive range of local, state & national clientele, in both government and private spheres.
Exporting Excellence Award
Winner: Solar Bollard Lighting
Solar Bollard Lighting (SBL) is an Australian owned business located in Brendale Queensland. Our premium commercial-grade solar bollard light is custom-built to our clients’ exact requirements to cope with the most diverse and harsh environments globally.
Food and Agribusiness Excellence Award
Winner: Pinata Farms Pty Ltd
Piñata Farms is a proud Queensland farming business with origins dating back to the 1960s in the state's south-east. Founded by pineapple farmer Geoff Scurr at Wamuran, Piñata Farms is now operated by his sons Gavin and Stephen Scurr. Piñata Farms is the largest pineapple producer in Australia, one of the largest strawberry producers and holds the breeding rights to grow specialty Honey Gold mangoes, produced in every mainland state except South Australia.
Innovation Excellence Award
Winner: JESI
JESI is a global, location-based software solution that enables an organisation to control the risks associated with a Mobile Workforce operating remotely across multiple geographic locations. The JESI mobile technology enables real-time responses and rapid communication that helps to reduce the number of accidents, injuries and delays amongst remote workers.
Not-For-Profit Excellence Award
Winner: The Carers Foundation
Established in 2015, The Carers Foundation is the only charity in Australia that provides 3-day Wellness Programs to Carers at NO COST to them. Located 30 minutes north of Brisbane, Wellness Programs are provided on-site in a private tranquil retreat.
Tourism Business Excellence Award
Winner: Sandstone Point Holiday Resort
Located on the calm waterways of Pumicestone Passage across from the iconic Bribie Island. Surrounded by magnificent beaches and scenic bushland, the resort offers luxury world-class facilities and a variety of accommodation options and facilities suitable for all ages including a pool, waterpark, jumping pillow, tennis court, fire pit, bar, playground and more.
Youth Innovation Excellence Award
Winner: IntelVest
IntelVest is the marriage of a radio transmitter, a processing unit, and a collection of existing electronic sensors, packaged into a light and flexible unit that can be incorporated into a firefighter’s turnout gear. The technology collects and relays back clinical data, such as pulse rate, body temperature, respiration rate, and blood pressure, along with environmental data, such as external temperature, dangerous gas concentration, visibility, and other factors back to a central control unit that can be monitored by an outside control team.
